ColorEyes Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 18, 2026
ColorEyes values your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how ColorEyes processes information related to your use when providing color vision assistance, camera, photo, video, and related features.
ColorEyes is designed around on-device processing.
1. Basic Principles
The current core product design of ColorEyes follows these principles:
- No ColorEyes account registration is required;
- Core features can be used without signing in;
- ColorEyes does not operate its own user account system;
- Color vision assistance image processing is performed primarily on your device;
- Remote AI services are not used to analyze your photos or videos;
- Your usage is not tracked for advertising purposes; and
- Your personal information is not sold.
Certain system features, such as in-app purchases, are provided by Apple and processed under Apple’s rules.
2. Information We Process
1. Color Vision Assistance Configuration
To provide personalized color vision assistance features, ColorEyes stores your color vision assistance configuration locally on your device, such as:
- Your selected color vision assistance type;
- Adaptation strength;
- Assistance parameters generated through personalized calibration; and
- Configuration source and other information related to color vision assistance.
This information is used to apply your color vision assistance configuration during camera, photo, and video processing.
ColorEyes does not treat this information as a medical diagnosis.
It does not represent a disease type, disease severity, or medical record.
2. Photos and Videos
When you actively:
- Capture a photo;
- Record a video;
- Select media from the system photo library; or
- Apply color vision assistance processing to a photo or video;
ColorEyes processes the relevant media to complete the requested feature.
Under the current product design, this image and video processing is performed primarily on your device.
ColorEyes does not actively upload your entire system photo library merely because you open the App or enter the album page.
3. Local Media Records
To manage media that you actively process in ColorEyes, the App may store the following locally on your device:
- Media type;
- Creation time;
- Local file references;
- Thumbnails;
- Processing status;
- Color vision assistance parameters used; and
- Status information such as whether the media has been saved to the system photo library.
This information is used primarily for ColorEyes local album and media-processing features.
4. App Settings
ColorEyes may store necessary App preferences locally on your device, such as:
- First-time onboarding completion status;
- Certain camera or media preferences; and
- Local settings related to the interface and features.
This information is used to maintain your experience.
3. Camera Permission
ColorEyes uses camera permission to provide:
- Real-time color vision assistance previews;
- Photo capture; and
- Video recording.
Camera images are used to provide the color vision assistance features that you actively use.
ColorEyes does not use camera permission for identity recognition or monitoring purposes unrelated to these features.
You can manage ColorEyes camera permission in iOS Settings.
If you deny camera permission, features that require the camera will not function properly, while other features that do not depend on the camera may continue to be available where applicable.
4. Microphone Permission
When you use video recording with sound, ColorEyes may request microphone permission.
The microphone is used to record audio in videos.
ColorEyes does not use the microphone for:
- Continuous listening;
- Advertising analysis;
- Voice-based identity recognition; or
- Audio collection unrelated to video recording.
You can manage microphone permission at any time through iOS Settings.
5. Photo Library
ColorEyes may use system capabilities provided by Apple to let you actively select photos or videos.
When you use the system media picker, you decide which media to provide to ColorEyes.
ColorEyes does not actively copy your entire photo library merely because you use the media import feature.
When you actively save a processed result to the system photo library, ColorEyes may request the system permission required to complete that action.
You can manage the relevant permissions in iOS Settings.
6. On-Device Processing
The core ColorEyes color vision assistance algorithm runs on your device.
This includes:
- Real-time camera color adaptation;
- Application of personalized color vision assistance parameters;
- Photo color processing; and
- Video color processing.
Under the current product design, ColorEyes does not need to upload your photos or videos to a server operated by ColorEyes to perform the core processing described above.
7. In-App Purchases
ColorEyes PRO uses the Apple App Store and StoreKit to provide in-app purchases.
When you purchase products such as Monthly, Yearly, or Lifetime, Apple handles the payment and transaction process.
ColorEyes does not directly obtain or store your:
- Bank card number;
- Complete payment account information; or
- Apple Account password.
To determine whether PRO benefits are active, the App obtains and verifies through StoreKit the transaction and entitlement status associated with purchases for the App.
The processing of related payment information is also governed by Apple’s applicable terms and privacy policy.
8. Advertising and Tracking
Under the current product design, ColorEyes:
- Does not integrate third-party advertising features;
- Does not use IDFA for advertising tracking; and
- Does not create user profiles for cross-App or cross-website advertising tracking.
If the product’s data-processing practices materially change in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly and provide any notices or obtain any authorizations required by applicable rules.
9. Third-Party Services
Some foundational ColorEyes capabilities are provided through Apple system frameworks and services, including:
- iOS;
- App Store;
- StoreKit;
- Photos; and
- AVFoundation.
When you use these system services, Apple may process relevant information under its own terms and privacy policy.
ColorEyes cannot control data-processing activities conducted independently by Apple.
10. Data Retention
Your ColorEyes color vision assistance configuration, App settings, and local media records are stored primarily on your device.
This local data may be deleted or become unrecoverable in the following circumstances:
- You actively delete the relevant content;
- You uninstall ColorEyes;
- The system removes related files;
- Your device is damaged or lost;
- A storage failure occurs; or
- Other circumstances arise outside the App’s reasonable control.
Please use appropriate methods to back up important photos and videos.
11. Data Deletion
For data stored within ColorEyes for which the App provides a deletion option, you can delete it through the corresponding feature in the App.
You can also delete local data stored in the App sandbox by uninstalling ColorEyes. However, data independently managed by iOS, the App Store, or other system services may not be affected by uninstalling the App.
For media already saved to the system photo library, please manage it through the system Photos app or relevant system features.
12. Children’s Privacy
ColorEyes is not a service specifically designed for children.
Minors should use the App under the guidance of a guardian, particularly when making in-app purchases.
We do not knowingly use ColorEyes to create advertising profiles directed at children.
13. Data Security
ColorEyes protects local data through the iOS App sandbox and permission mechanisms provided by the system.
However, no electronic device or software environment can guarantee absolute security.
Please take appropriate steps to protect your device, Apple Account, and important media content.
14. Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as ColorEyes features, laws and regulations, or platform rules change.
The updated version will be made available in the App.
If data-processing practices change in a way that materially affects user rights and interests, we will provide additional notice where reasonably practicable.
