1. About Cleanup
Cleanup is a photo organization tool for iPhone that helps you organize photos and videos in just a few minutes each day. Cleanup uses Apple system capabilities to access your photo library, and photo analysis is performed locally on your device.
2. Requirements
- Supports iOS 17.0 or later and iPhone only.
- Photo library access must be granted in iOS to use photo organization, scanning, and preview features.
- Cleanup does not require sign-in, upload your photos or videos, or save copies of your original photos.
- Analysis results are provided only to assist with organization and are not guaranteed to be completely accurate or complete.
3. Photo Access Issues
3.1 No Photo Access
If Cleanup cannot access your photos, open “Settings”>“Privacy & Security”>“Photos”>“Cleanup” and choose “Full Access” or “Limited Access” as needed. Return to Cleanup and open the relevant feature again.
3.2 Limited Access
Limited Access allows Cleanup to process only the photos and videos you selected. As a result, the scan count, categories, and analysis scope may be smaller than the actual contents of your system photo library. You can edit the authorized selection in system settings.
3.3 Access Denied or Restricted
When access is denied or restricted by device management policies, the legal agreements and the “My” page remain available, but features that require photo access cannot work normally.
4. Scanning and Analysis Issues
- Make sure Cleanup is up to date and that photo access includes the content you want to organize.
- If you recently took, imported, edited, or deleted photos, wait for Apple Photos to finish processing before scanning again.
- If your photo library is syncing with iCloud Photos, make sure your network connection is stable and wait for syncing to finish.
- Keep Cleanup in the foreground during scanning when possible, and avoid locking the screen or force-quitting the app immediately.
- Similar photo, blurry photo, and large file results are assistive analysis results. We recommend checking each item against the original.
If a thumbnail or single-photo preview is temporarily blurry, this is usually related to iCloud optimized storage, system resource loading, or network conditions. Wait until the original is available, then open the preview again.
5. Deletion and Recovery Issues
Cleanup’s deletion flow is usually “Delete Later”>“Delete Preview”>“Confirm Again”>requesting the system photo library to delete the items through PhotoKit. Carefully review the items marked for deletion before final confirmation.
- Deletion is performed by Apple Photos and the iOS system.
- Items may be moved to the system’s “Recently Deleted” album. The retention period and recovery options depend on the actual state of Apple Photos.
- If iCloud Photos is enabled, deletions and other photo library changes may sync to other devices using the same Apple Account.
- If the latest data does not appear immediately on the deletion success page, return to the home page, wait for the photo library to refresh, and check the statistics again.
6. PRO Purchases and Restoration
Cleanup PRO purchases, auto-renewal, refunds, and purchase restoration are handled by the Apple App Store and StoreKit. Make sure the device is signed in to the correct Apple Account.
- Open the PRO page in Cleanup and check whether the products load normally.
- If your benefits do not take effect immediately after purchase, wait a moment and reopen the PRO page.
- After changing devices or reinstalling the app, use “Restore Purchases” to sync valid benefits associated with the same Apple Account.
- To manage auto-renewal, go to iOS “Settings”>“Apple Account”>“Subscriptions”.
If you have an issue with billing, refunds, or subscription status, please contact Apple’s purchase support first. Do not send your Apple Account password or payment information when contacting Cleanup.
